Today (4 July 2016) Le Nurb understands that the Union of Brunel Students has finalised its plan to provide free female sanitary products on campus - joining the national #FreePeriod campaign.
While they are yet to confirm, free sanitary products were a huge part of Union President Ali Milani's re-election campaign manifesto back in March.
The sale of sanitary products has attracted criticism from the student movement as they are taxed as luxury items, while men's razors are seen as essential products.
We have reached out to the Union for comment and are currently awaiting a response.
We will continue to update the article as further details are clarified.
