David Hall (Physiotherapy), Thomas Howlett (Sport, Health & Exercise Sciences) and Mark Cryer (Sport, Health & Exercise Sciences) took gold, silver and bronze respectively at the England U.23 Indoor Combined Events Championships held at the E.I.S. Sheffield, over the weekend of 10-11 January 2015.

All three athletes scored heptathlon personal bests, to get their spot on the podium in Sheffield. David and Tom moving up the age groups from U.20 to U.23, scored 5267 and 5074 respectively. This left club track and field captain Mark Cryer to sweep the medals scoring 5038, in what was a very successful weekend for the trio.

It was announced on 14 January 2015 that they will now represent the Great Britain & Northern Ireland U.23 team against France and Spain at Nogent-sur-Oise, France, over the weekend of 24-25 January 2015.

Also receiving a GBR vest for the fixture in France, is long serving club member Jo Rowland, who is currently training in Sheffield with new coach Toni Minichello. Jo has evidently reacted well to such training after receiving a national senior bronze medal and scoring a personal best in pentathlon, with a score of 4115.

We wish the four Brunel Athletics athletes success on international duty, hoping they will return in good form, in time for the upcoming BUCS indoor championships on the 20-22 February 2014.
