The weekend will consist of events and talks with high-profile writers and poets, ranging from Will Self to Kate Mosse. All sessions are entirely free, however booking is required. Alongside the events will be book stalls, street food and drink, live music, family activities, and much more!
Benjamin Zephaniah, a professor in the Creative Writing department teaching performance poetry, will be hosting two events including some performance.
Liesel Schwarz, a Brunel alumna and now a very successful Sci-Fi and fantasy writer, named a Best British Sci Fi Writer of 2014 by Buzzfeed, will also be appearing.
Laura Barnett (The Versions of Us) and Kate Mosse (The Taxidermist’s Daughter) are also very exciting billings, with Kate Mosse being a multiple bestselling author and Laura Barnett’s debut The Version of Us being named Waterstones' book of the month in July.
Masterclasses on a wide variety of topics will be held, allowing students to learn from those who have made it in their field, from ‘Plotting your Science Fiction and Fantasy Novel' to ‘Pitching a Film or Story’.
