Leon Evans has announced that he has withdrawn his nomination for next year's Union president.
Evans, who is the current VP Community Welfare within the Union of Brunel Students, cited "personal reasons" for his motivation in quitting the race.
Next year the VP Community Welfare position will be dissolved and will become part of three College-specific roles. Evans had been vocal about his intention to run for the position of President but revealed exclusively to Le Nurb that he would be withdrawing from the race. In a video statement he endorsed current sabbatical officers Hannah Jones for President and Marcus Stein for Vice President of the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences.
Evans has been under fire recently from Student Assembly after it was revealed that his Let's Cook programme was given a budget of £10,000, and again when he invited Coca Cola to promote on campus during Green Week.
